These Terms govern your use of the Tapsys Merchant Android application (the "App") and the related backend payment services operated by Tapsys (Private) Limited (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Tapsys Merchant lets a Pakistani retail merchant accept RAAST instant payments from customers via a QR code printed at the counter or shared digitally, see those payments land in real time, refund them when needed, and have the day's takings transferred to the merchant's own bank account daily.
Tapsys is a technology provider operating within the State Bank of Pakistan ("SBP") RAAST framework. Funds are held with SBP-licensed banking partners and settled to your SBP-regulated bank account. Tapsys is not itself a bank.
Once your IBAN is registered and verified, the App generates a RAAST-enabled QR code tied to your IBAN. Funds paid via that QR settle to your account via the SBP RAAST rails.
Subject to RAAST and partner-bank cut-off windows, your day's takings transfer to your registered bank account at 21:00 PKT each evening and typically land the next business day. Speed-up options, if offered in-App, are governed by the in-App disclosure at the point of selection.
Partial and full refunds are supported. Refund requests are debited from your settlement balance. Once initiated and confirmed via the hold-to-confirm gesture, a refund cannot be unilaterally cancelled — recover funds directly with the customer.
Per-transaction processing fees, if any, are displayed in the App at the point they apply (for example on the Payouts screen). Tapsys may revise fees with at least 30 days' in-App notice.
RAAST is a credit-push system without chargebacks. You agree that you will resolve customer complaints directly with the customer, optionally using the App's refund feature. Tapsys may, at its discretion, place a hold on settlement funds while investigating a suspected fraudulent or disputed transaction.
You agree not to use the Service to:
To comply with SBP requirements we must collect and verify your CNIC, business details, and IBAN at onboarding. We may at any time request additional documents to satisfy SBP, the Financial Monitoring Unit, or our banking partners. Failure to provide such documents within a reasonable time may result in suspension of settlements until the request is satisfied.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service:
You may terminate at any time by emailing [email protected]. Outstanding settlement balances will be paid out to your registered IBAN on the next scheduled settlement run, subject to any compliance holds. KYC and transaction records will be retained for the period required by SBP.
The Khata (customer ledger) feature stores data exclusively on your device. It is not backed up to Tapsys servers. If your device is lost, factory-reset, or its data cleared, the Khata data is lost. Android's Backup & Restore (Google Drive) may, if enabled by you, save a copy under your Google account; this is between you and Google.
The Service depends on the following third parties whose terms also apply to you when you use the App: RAAST and your bank (via SBP), Google (Play Services and Firebase Cloud Messaging), and Meta (Facebook SDK for analytics and ad attribution). See our Privacy Policy for what data is shared with each.
The App, the backend services, the Tapsys name, the Tapsys wordmark and signal-wave logo, and all related software are the property of Tapsys (Private) Limited. These Terms grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Pakistani law, Tapsys disclaims all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that RAAST or any banking partner will at all times be operational.
To the maximum extent permitted by Pakistani law, Tapsys's total aggregate liability to you arising out of or related to the Service in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of (a) the processing fees you actually paid to Tapsys in that period, or (b) PKR 50,000. Tapsys is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law (for example, liability for fraud or wilful misconduct).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tapsys, its officers, directors, and employees from any third-party claim arising out of: (i) your breach of these Terms; (ii) your violation of Pakistani law; or (iii) your acceptance of payments for prohibited goods or services as described in Section 5.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the App and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith discussions within 30 days shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
